Injury Notes: Chad Green & Aaron Hicks

Here are a few injury updates that were announced by the Yankees today:

Chad Green

Chad Green met with Dr. Chris Ahmad on Monday afternoon to get a second opinion on his elbow. He was recently diagnosed with a strained UCL and a sprained flexor tendon after he left his last start in Baltimore. Green only pitched 1.2 innings before he was lifted for Nick Goody.

Green will undergo a dye contrast MRI in the upcoming days.

Aaron Hicks

The New York Yankees have announced they have placed OF Aaron Hicks on the 15-day DL for a hamstring strain. The date for the 15-day DL is retroactive to September 1st. Hicks hurt his hamstring during the Kansas City Royals series when he pulled his hamstring going into first base in the top of the 9th inning.

The Yankees later diagnosed Hicks with a Grade 2 hamstring.

Coke is scheduled to start a second playoff game so why don't Yankees put Green on 60 day DL and add Coke for tomorrow game. Coke will eventually become free agent after this season.
