As the Yankees welcomed the Los Angeles Dodgers to town, they hoped to inch closer towards the second Wild Card. However, a poor start from Bryan Mitchell sent the Yankees to a 9-2 loss at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

The Yankees got on the board in the second on a Starlin Castro home run, and in the fifth on an Aaron Judge solo-shot.

Mitchell went 2.1 innings, giving up six runs on eight hits while striking out two. Chasen Shreve retired two batters, Richard Bleier pitched four scoreless innings, James Pazos gave up a run in his inning of work and Ben Heller gave up a run in his inning.
