Derek Jeter Night tickets skyrocket on market

Hey, do you want to see the Yankees play on May 14th on the same night Derek Jeter is going to have his number retired by the Bronx Bombers?

Well, if you do then you’re possibly going to have to cut off an arm, a leg and donate a kidney just to sit in the bleacher seats.

The New York Yankees website has the bleacher prices for May 14th priced at $140 to $155 dollars, which the New York Post calculates is a 604% increase for the same seats on Opening Day at Yankee Stadium.

Okay, so the bleachers are out of the question. Do you want to sit in the Grandstand that night instead?

Well, then that’s gonna cost you both your arms, a leg and a kidney. The Grandstand seats are priced at $150 to $160 which is a 414% increase from Opening Day.

Jeter is the last of the Yankees Core Four to be honored at Monument Park. Mariano Rivera was honored during the 2013 season while Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte were honored over the course of the 2015 season.

The Yankees are planning to retire Derek Jeter’s No. 2 and give him a plaque in Monument Park.

I am hoping that YES carries the ceremony because this game is on national TV. What a shame it would be if all the fans who can not afford to go are shut out of watching this historic event.
