Yankees cut five more players from camp

Prior to Wednesday’s night game against the Philadelphia Phillies, the New York Yankees cut five more players from Spring camp.

Here are the following moves:

— The Yankees optioned RHP Johnny Barbato, LHP Dietrich Enns and RHP Giovanny Gallegos to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and have reassigned them to minor league camp.

— The Yankees optioned INF Miguel Andujar to Double-A Trenton Thunder and have reassigned him to minor league camp.

— The Yankees reassigned RHP Chance Adams to minor league camp.

The number of players at camp now stands at 48 players. This includes the injured Tyler Austin and the five remaining players in the World Baseball Classic.

    I would have liked to see a little more of Adams and Andujar but the numbers game has already begun. The good news is opening day is just around the corner
