  1. I think the Yankees need to consider using Gary Sanchez at first base, at least a little, when he returns. Austin Romine has proven that he's capable of calling a great game and is decent with the stick too.

And at the least, could be a valuable trade chip. Kind of like John Murphy was.

    • John says:

That will never happen. Romine has been a pleasant surprise at the plate in his absence, but he's still #2. It's a long season, and Sanchez will need to rest if his legs are to stay fresh and his bat produces as well. Yanks won't rush Sanchez until he's ready and can go 100%.

  2. Terry says:

BG getting it going early and Romine with the exclamation point!! Romine definitely making the most of his opportunity. He's straight up killin' it, offensively and game calling. Not long ago he was DFA'd, now we need him big time. Nice jos Mr Romine. JM tomorrow, can't wait to see him again. Judge? What else can you say at this point? He's awesome, period

  3. John says:

I think you have to start to get Carter in too. Nothing against Bird but keeping him in and struggling at the plate is not going to help a young guy like him.

ok with Bird playing -Carter is a tough watch. It looks like he has one swing plane and if the pitcher hits his bat the ball goes far. Hoping when Austin is back they cut him loose

About Mitchell playing P-1B-P, it was not even funny.

  5. buckeye balls says:

yeah I was a little annoyed at all the laughing by the yanks while Mitchell played first-they lost a terrible game-I know they are playing with house money and enjoying being in first place, but players continue to prove that fans take losses harder than they do. Too many brutal at bats with runners on third and less than two outs. As for Mitchell-I could see missing a low throw but dropping a pop up is ridiculous. Then he threw batting practice when he came back in. I would send him down and let him start some games-he seems out of sync as a reliever.
