Judge homers in 3-1 win over Red Sox

Yankees @ Red Sox
FINAL: Yankees 3, Red Sox 1
WIN: Luis Severino (2-1, 3.00 ERA)
LOSS: Rick Porcello (1-3, 4.75 ERA)

On a cloudy and misty night at Fenway Park, the Yankees and Red Sox squared off for the first of a now two-game set. And on Aaron Judge‘s 25th birthday, he made quite the introduction to the famed rivalry, leading the offense to a 3-1 win at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Yankees scored in the top of the second on a two-run home run by Judge. The Yankees added one more run in the sixth on a RBI single by Greg Bird.

Severino started for the Yankees and was absolutely dazzling, going seven innings, giving up no runs on three hits while striking out six. Dellin Betances pitched a scoreless eighth, and Aroldis Chapman gave up a run in the ninth.

What’s Next?

— The Yankees attempt to go for the series sweep as Masahiro Tanaka faces the Boston Red Sox. However, the Yankees will get their first look at Chris Sale in a Red Sox uniform as he tries to help Boston even the series at one game apiece. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and the game will air on the YES Network.

Outstanding game!! Judge with an almost inside out swing and he takes it out in RF at Fenway. That's a shot! Severino was spectacular, the command was there. He battled through a little adversity when he had to, really nice job. Bird with a big insurance run. Hopefully he can get it going now. Baby Bombers putting a whoopin' on Boston. Loved it!!

Would it be a Fog Delay if Randy Johnson started?

Judge needs to mark "Guilty" on the Citgo sign tonight.
