Just a night after the New York Yankees played an 18-inning affair, the team had a quick turn around against the Cincinnati Reds. With their ace on the mound, the Yankees were able to pound out 10 runs, which included Brett Gardner‘s sixth home run in his last nine games, capping off a 10-4 win at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Yankees got on the board in the first on a two-run single by Gary Sanchez and a RBI single by Didi Gregorius. In the fourth, Aaron Hicks hit a RBI single, in the fifth Gregorius hit a SAC Fly, in the seventh the Yankees scored on a hit by pitch and a single by Ronald Torreyes, and in the eighth Gardner hit a two-run shot followed by a solo home run off the bat of Matt Holliday.
