Yankees option Luis Cessa to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 1

Another day, another move on the Scranton Shuttle.

Just a day after the Yankees brought up Luis Cessa and sent down Bryan Mitchell, the Yankees decided to send Cessa down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

As a corresponding move, the Yankees called up Chasen Shreve from Triple-A.

Despite Adam Warren being available for tonight’s game after throwing an abundance of pitches on Saturday, the Yankees opted to have another fresh arm in the pen.

I don't think this Scranton Shuttle is the right move (even though of course it didn't work so my opinion is highly convenient), but still. Mitchell is a nice player and may become an excellent bullpen piece and/or back up or future #4-5 starter. So, it kills his confidence to send him down after maybe his first bad outing all season. It sorta let's Girardi off the hook too in better managing the bullpen. The season is young and if the pen is tired now. . . .
