If Your Favorite Yankee Was a Beer He Would Be…
I was inspired to write this post after I found this article on the Baseball Think Factory comparing some players around the league to beers. It was a good article even though he called Mariano Rivera a Sam Adams Boston Lager. But it got me to start wondering who some of the Yankees would be if they were beers...read more
For instance, if Derek Jeter were a beer, what beer would he be?
Jeter would be Budweiser. All-American and even though not everyone loves him you can’t deny his popularity and consistency.
If Robinson Cano were a beer, what beer would he be?
Cano would be Presidente because their both laid back, smooth, and Dominican.
If Jorge Posada were a beer, what beer would he be?
Posada would be Delirium Tremens because anybody who pisses on his own hands needs a strong beer.
If Alex Rodriguez was a beer, what beer would he be?
A-Rod would be a Zima because…do I need to explain this one?
If Nick Johnson was a beer, what beer would he be?
Johnson would be a Guinness because you have to let it sit for a while (get it? it’s a injury joke).
If Alfredo Aceves were a beer, what beer would he be?
Aceves would be a Dos Equis because he’s the most interesting man in the world.
If Andy Pettitte were a beer, what beer would he be?
Pettitte would be a Deer Park water. I know it’s not beer, but Pettitte is christian and from Deer Park, Tx.
If Phil Hughes were a beer, what beer would he be?
Hughes would be Natty Ice because even World Series winners drink beer out of measuring cups.
That’s what I came up with, can anyone else come up with more?

Haha, love the article Rob. The Aceves one was my favorite.

Would JD be HANSA?? Could it be the brewery owned by the Icelandic billionaire who went bust over some bad investments?…

Hughes’s beer has ice cubes in it…Weird.
Would Reegie Corona be a “Corona” ??…
I’m surprised you missed that one, Rob…It was right in your wheelhouse.

Posada as Delirum Tremens,a fabulous beer, is a good call.
I can’t agree with Jeter being a beer as pedestrian as Budweiser. Given the smooth way he comports himself, and that he’s a top-notch player, I’d term Jeter an Ommegang. To me, Mariano is The Reverend from Avery. A.J. Burnett is Founders Curmudgeon Old Ale, and C.C. is Bell’s HopSlam.
