Hit and Run: Cervelli is OK, Burnett's Changeup, and Brackman
Here are a couple of things to note from this afternoon’s 9-1 loss to the Blue Jays
- Francisco Cervelli left today’s game with a concussion and went to the hospital. CT Scans came back negative and he’ll only miss a few days. “I feel good, a little scared at the time,” said Cervelli.
- AJ Burnett threw about 10 changeups today. This is the reason he gave to reporters after the game as to why he’s working on it. “I’m a .500 pitcher and there’s a reason behind that. I know I’ve battled injuries in the past, but over three-quarters of my career I’m a two-pitch pitcher,” Burnett said.
- Yankee fans got to see Andrew Brackman in action today. It wasn’t pretty. In one inning he allowed two runs on three hits and a home run.
- George Steinbrenner was also in attendance today. It was the second spring game he’s been to this year.
