The New York Yankees have recalled OF Zoilo Almonte from Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre. As a corresponding move, the Yankees have designated Jeff Francis for assignment. Well, it's the end of the Francis era...which didn't last long to begin with.

Yankees call up Bryan Mitchell

The Yankees have announced they have called up Bryan Mitchell from Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre. As a corresponding move, Zoilo Almonte has been optioned to Triple-A Scranton. One side note: Kelly Johnson is playing LF today with Brett Gardner in CF and Jacoby Ellsbury on the bench. Fingers crossed Johnson fields LF with authority.
